Côte Rôtie in the Rhône Valley - fried hills in late september with a lot of dear grapes.

Beaujolais - surprisingly ample - Juliénas, St Amour and Moulin-à-Vent will make your trip memorable. Not very far from Beaujolais, you will find the rest of Bourgogne and the pleasant little town Beaune. North of Beuane, in the little village of Morey-Saint-Denis there is a good chance to pick up local lovely bottles such as wonderful Domaine Pierre Amiot et Fils.

Jura - an early foggy september morning - Comté cheese and Yellow wine (and some red) was found at the top of ancient village Chateau Chalon after a delicious croissant breakfast at the little charming "hotel" Le Grand Jardin in beautiful and mysterious Baume-Les-Messieurs.

Rheinhessen is a very nice experience in autumn - the wine growers are very busy harvesting, yet they are making you feel most welcome to taste their wine, sometimes made of unique grapes like Huxelrebe, Scheurebe or red grapes like Blauer Spätburgunder or Dornfelder.

We had a good time at the Weingut Keller (one of Germanys top ten wine makers) and Weingut Schales (one of Germanys top ten entertaining wine makers).

Each year Keller's very young sons make their own wine together with their class mates. Father Keller does not help, they do it all by themselves - the future is secured.

Kaiserstuhl in Baden is a vulcano that is cluttered with vines and if you visit Weingut Schneider you will have a happy tasting experience (the Weißer Burgunder Spätlese called Trio is amazing) before taking your dinner at the Schindlers Ratsstube - hearty food and service.

Domaine Yves Darviot, Beaune, France

Follow the trails to the most delicious Pinot Noirs of the most precious Grand Cru areas in Burgundy. Monsieur Darviot is one of the many wine makers in Burgundy – he makes wonderful wine and he also rents out two apartments at his residence in central Beaune. We rented the big apartment for a week, and we strongly recommend it, if it is still avaliable!
